My family doctor saved my life. Literally.

Family Doctor: Scott Matlock

Dr. Matlock saved my life. Literally. In January 2021, I had a major asthma attack. Even though I knew what expect, the lingering cough, persistent nausea and general malaise wasn’t going away.

Dr. Matlock tested for everything he could think of, from whooping cough, COVID, pneumonia to bronchitis. All results came back negative. Finally, he had ordered a radiation CT scan which was scheduled for the end of May 2021. Dr. Matlock felt like this was too long to wait so he arranged for me to go to the Leduc community hospital at the beginning of April for the scan. The results showed two blood clots, one in each lung. I was treated immediately by the medical team in Leduc and will be forever grateful for their care.

If Dr Matlock had not insisted on an earlier date for the CT scan, I may not have made it until the end of May. Dr Matlock is an extraordinary human being. He is a doctor of integrity, compassion, and dedication. I will be eternally grateful to him.
