Family Doctor: Dr. Doug Cain

Thirty years ago, I stopped into Mission Medical to get a physical. I waited on my appointment day, in my drafty green medical examination smock.

A tall charismatic young doctor came blazing in and introduced himself.
“Hi! I’m Doug. So let’s have a look at…
your ears, eyes, nose, throat, your skin, and other ‘parts’.

Douglas Caine is the most thoughtful and thorough diagnostician in western Canada. His warmth and smile are infectious. His expertise in blood chemistry has prevented me from barely getting sick over 30 years under his care.

Thirty years later, I am off the United States. I told Doug how much I have appreciated him the other day via text. I will greatly miss him. Dr. Douglas Caine is a beautiful person inside and out. He is a husband, father, basketball player and – first class M.D. We are all very blessed to have him in our community. I wish him all the very best in the future and want him to know how much I have appreciated his care over all these years.
