Dr. Izanne Nel – Care without Question

Family Doctor: Nel Izanne

Dr. Nel is a fantastic doctor who has always treated me with respect and care. I have a diagnosis of anxiety on my chart and in my experience doctors tend to dismiss my concerns or find ways to dismiss my concerns in as polite way as possible. Years ago, I told a doctor I was experiencing a lot of pain in my shoulder and he dismissed it as a weight problem. I saw a physiotherapist independently and discovered I had nerve damage causing the shoulder pain. So when I suspected something was off with my iron levels I was anxious that I would be dismissed again, but when I came to Dr. Nel and told her I would like my iron levels tested she ordered the test without question. It turns out my iron was super low! This isn’t the only time she listened without question. With her help, I was able to address several physical and mental health issues that I’m now being treated for.

With Dr. Nel, I have never felt like an inconvenience or like I’m being rushed. She always listens and treats my concerns with care. I can trust her advice because I know she trusts me to know my own body.
