Family Doctor: Dr. Shazia Ali

I’m so grateful to have Dr. Shazia Ali as my family doctor. She’s been with me through an out of country MVA, regular annual care, and a variety of issues that have led me to reach out to her. Whatever the reason I contact her, I am confident that she will respond promptly. During a difficult time, a couple of years ago, Dr. Ali encouraged me to call the office, at any time, and the staff would put my call through.

I had an appointment booked recently and rather than have me attend the office, Dr. Ali reached out to me, saying if I only needed refills, she would send them to my pharmacy.

Dr. Ali also provides care to my 31-year-old autistic daughter. As is the case with many autistics, she has some sensory issues. When we were at a walk-in clinic (when Dr. Ali’s office was closed), the physician mentioned wax in my daughter’s ears, and that she would like to syringe them out. The doctor was unsuccessful, due to my daughter’s resistance. I mentioned the wax in our next visit to Dr. Ali. She was able to remove the wax, with no resistance from my daughter.

My daughter loves Dr. Ali and makes sure she sends her postcards from all her trips.

With this umbrella of care, Dr. Ali truly is a family doctor.
